Dear Colleague Welcome to the summer edition of the Bath Consultancy Group newsletter and a particular welcome to all the new subscribers. This has been a particularly busy quarter for BCG Ltd with a lot of new client work. Including a new European Leadership Programme for Canon Europe, work with Global marketing for Nokia, HR transformation work for a government department, executive team development and leadership work for two Strategic Health Authorities and new work on Culture for Performance with a large investment bank. We have also been delighted to welcome two new consultants to the core team and a new Non-Executive Director. Angela Steatham and Joanna Corr have both brought a wide range of consulting experience with them into the Core team here at Bath. You can read about Angela in this newsletter and Joanna will be featured in the Autumn. Christine Lloyd has joined the board as a non-executive. Our relationship with Christine goes back many years to the time when she was a member of the internal consulting team at Shell. She was then Head of Leadership and Organisation Development at Worldcom where we worked with her on performance management and leadership development. Christine then became a key player as Head of HR and Development in Nokia Venturing, and later Director of Organisation Development and Change in Nokia overall, where once again she became an important client. Christine is now Executive Director of People & Organisational Development at Cancer Research, the largest charity in Europe and we are delighted that she is able to find time amidst her new large work challenges to support the development of BCG. News about New Courses |
Certificate Programme in Supervision of Coaches, Mentors and ConsultantsCoaching in the UK and Europe is coming of age! Over the past couple of years all coaching professional bodies (EMCC, ICF, AC, BPS SGCP, APECS) have published statements regarding coaching supervision. However, until recently, there has been very little supervision training that specifically focuses on coaching. Bath Consultancy Group's Coaching Supervision training builds on a solid foundation of the Hawkins and Shohets supervision model that has been the core of counsellor and psychotherapist supervision for over fifteen years. The Coaching Supervision training builds on this with other models that are more specific to the coaching. Its an excellent course that is significantly progressing the provision of coaching supervision in the UK. Gil Schwenk Chair, EMMC Standards Committee Sheldon Maguire, who completed the course in March 2005 wrote - "I think this programme would be valuable for any professional coach interested in their learning and supervision."

An Interview with Angela Steatham |
What made you want to join BCG? After 6 years as an Independent Consultant, I realised that I wanted to work more closely with fellow OD professionals. Having worked alongside some BCG Associates and having received a great deal of my professional development from BCG also, I value immensely their approach to working with clients. I like the integrity of how BCG works with its clients, its innovation and the fact that all interventions are clearly linked to strategic business goals. In addition, I realised that I have ignored many potential pieces of work because I did not have the capacity or breadth of approach to deliver what was needed BCG provides both of these and lots more besides!
