Some of the current action research
activity includes:-
New Forms of Organising
This research is looking at creative
ways of structuring organisations and creating flexible business processes
in response to the impact of such forces as globalisation, the e-revolution
and its use of new forms of technology and the need to constantly change
in response to the needs of customers. BCG is setting up a learning
network of organisations who wish to help each other develop these ideas
in practice.

Learning Value
Bath Consultancy Group along with Core Context Consulting work
collaboratively with PricewaterhouseCoopers (UK) to carry
out a major piece of research
on how to increase the value of the business and its staff
on the total span of training and development. Bath Consultancy
Group was involved in doing a benchmark survey of best practice
in
other organisations
including:
BBC, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Diageo and Cadbury Schwepps. This
research programme
is now going into its second cycle where new modes of embedding
learning in the work place are being trialled.

Key Concept Papers and BCG Complimentary
Paper
Bath Consultancy Group continues to publish Key Concept
Papers, Journal articles and conference presentations
as part of its
role in bridging
the two worlds of latest business thinking and current
business practice in
leading edge firms. We produce Key Concept Papers and
short summaries of latest thinking for a number of our client
organisations but
also make these
more widely available, see Publications. We will also
be regularly making some of our papers and publications
available on this
web site and we are
starting with the Expanding Your
Range of Emotional Expression Key Concept Paper by Peter Hawkins on the critical area
of managing the
cultural aspects
of mergers and acquisitions, as this is one of the
current issues we are working on for a number of our clients.
